S ince I am about to "tweek" my living room again, I thought it would be a good time to show you the quilt my Grandmother made for us as a wedding present!
It looks like new as it has been lovingly preserved.
The pattern name escapes me, but I think it is called "Wedding Ring".
Every block is different.
It is backed in yellow, and quilted by hand by my Grandmother and her Sister-in-Law.
It is a treasured heirloom to me that I wanted to share with you!
Until next time, Honey

Oh honey, that is so beautiful and precious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful heirloom! It's beautiful!
It is so beautiful, what a treasure.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing gift! The pattern is called Grandmother's Flower Garden. It is most likely that each one of those hexagons was hand stitched. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Well, that's appropriate! I know remember what the wedding ring pattern is!
DeleteIt's a beautiful quilt and so special being made by your grandmother. The name of that pattern is Grandmother's Flower Garden. Wedding ring pattern goes in circles or double circles. The only reason I know this is because my mama is an expert quilter, and over the years I've listened and learned.
ReplyDeleteI love quilts and this is a beauty. I see someone else told you the pattern name...You are so lucky to own this treasure! Hugs, Linda

ReplyDeleteHoney, this is a real treasure. How special that your grandmother made this for your wedding present. I think the pattern is Grandmother's Garden. The pattern is very intricate because each one of those little hexagons was pieced together to make the the squares. Lots of love went into making this. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this beauty with all of us.........Sarah
