It was raining that morning, with clouds so heavy it might continue for days.  As happy and excited as I was, the rain was unexpected.   I shed a few tears.   My dear, sweet Grandmother told me everything would be fine. And she was right.  She always was.  By noon, God had given us a perfectly  glorious, sunny day with a 72-degree afternoon in Winter.

On  a beautiful afternoon  Sunday, February 6,  we were married and began a  wonderful
lifelong  journey together.

Until next time, Honey

 A Christmas Day Wedding Anniversary

My Great-Grandparents were Married
108 years ago on
Christmas Day,   December 25,  1893.
Just as today, White was the popular
choice for weddings; however,
some brides, especially the frontier and
pioneer brides, wore dark dresses
that were more practical and could
be worn after the wedding.
The dark  wedding dresses  were
fashionable for the day,  and  little
alteration was needed for the Dress
to be perfect to wear again.
