Knock Off Decor

Many of you have been inspired by items in expensive catalogs and moved to recreate them in your on special way, and always at a fraction on the price of the original item.  It’s always fun to see your copies and read about how you achieved your results.
Knock Off Decor features projects that are inspired by Ballard's, Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Restoration Hardware and many others.   Beckie, the very talented lady behind Infarrantly Creative blog is also the creator of Knock Off Decor.
My Romantic Book Bundles, inspired by Pottery Barn, have just been featured at Knock Off Decor.  I hope you will stop by to read about my project here.  Be sure to take a look around at all of the terrific knock-offs featured.  You will be glad you did!

I really appreciate the feature!
Thank you Beckie!

Until next time, Honey

Romancing the Book Bundles

Today I did a bit of  “Romancing”.     Romancing the Book Bundles,  actually.    It takes only a few minutes and adds a bit of Valentine’s Spirit.   Pottery Barn probably hasn’t thought of this yet or they would be charging  $39  $59 a bundle.

All it takes is a bit of ribbon,  a bit of twine,  a piece of sheet music,  some printed script and an old photograph, or whatever inspiration you have on hand  to add…

…a bit of romance to your books.

The Script Book is also featured in my  Celebrating!  post.
Page of script was from the Graphics Fairy.

Joys of Blogging

There are so many things to  Love about  Blogging,  and the month of December brought about another  Fun  Reason,  TWO to be exact:  Winning  gifts in Give-Aways.

Oh!  The Thrill.

The first Surprise came from   Carol at Our Sears Kit Home.   The gift was a collection of Vintage items:  a White Enamelware Pan with a  beautifully edged piece of Vintage Linen  along with a collection of Three Vintage Books by Grace Livingston Hill,  More than Conqueror,   The Strange Proposal,  and  The Best Manthe earliest of which was published in 1913.   According to the publisher,  she was a  “writer of romance for the Modern Girl where a sympathetic buoyant spirit conquers discouragement and teaches that true love and happiness will come out of the worst trial.”

026
Carol and her family live in a 1909 home that came in a “kit” from the Sears, Roebuck and Co.  Catalog.   Do stop by for a visit and see her lovely home and read  it’s interesting history.

Then,  the very same week,  another surprise!  The next gift was from  Vanessa at Southern in my Heart.  The gift was an oversized tea-towel featuring the 12 Days of Christmas, and is far to pretty to use.  So, just hang it and let up and show it off.  Along with the tea-towel was a Book of Poetry named  Reflections of a Mississippi Magnolias by Patricia Neely-Dorsey and a lovely pewter cup.

013
Vanessa is the Gracious Southern Girl at Heart  Hostess  to a weekly  Party  (another thing to Love about Blogging)  each Friday.   Be sure to drop by to see all the lovely projects and decorating ideas.

Thanks to both of these ladies for the lovely gifts and introducing me to another Joy of Blogging!  (Maybe this could turn into a television series or book  like  Days of our Lives  or  Joy of Sex).  The Poetry book has been finished and will be referred to often,  and I do plan on reading the books, beginning with The Best Man.   (Something every woman deserves……The Best Man!

So, with a sympathetic buoyant spirit I will be joining:
 House of Grace on Tuesday

Many Hugs,    Honey
