Summer Love: The Birds & The Bees & The Flowers...

Even though Labor Day usually marks the end of Summer, it is still Summer here at 2805.
Though very hot, it's nice compared to last year.
The flowers have thrived.

The hibiscus bloomed daily

The ferns survived

It's been a somewhat pleasant Summer, as Summers go, as long as you are in the shade

Or around the table

With the wind chimes, chiming,

The sound of water in the fountain,

The happy sound of children (my sister's grand babies) laughing and splashing in the pool

Then there are the cute critters:
Frogs,

 The birds

 And the bees,

The elusive butterfly.  I can never catch the big ones!

 Squirrels

And of course, the geckos, who sometime come indoors.

They play and they multiply. (Beware of National Geographic type picture!)

Ah, Summer love.

...Until next time, Honey

Orchid Beauty

A few days ago, my local grocery store had orchids in their flower shop for the unbelievable price of $9.99.   I quickly snapped one up.  It’s gorgeous!   (even if I say so myself)

What can I say.   Their beauty speaks for itself.

August Flower

The August  birth flower is the gladiolus which means sincerity and symbolizes strength of character.

Love at first sight is what the hidden message of this flower was during the
Victorian era.

Glads make me giddy, especially when they were red,  so how could I pass them by  a few days ago when my grocery store had them priced:
Buy 2 at 3.33 ea.- Get one Free

Enough to fill two containers!   That’s a nifty buy for any tabletop.

Vases

While browsing for inspiration, I came across these unusual vases.

How ingenious to make vases  from used light bulbs!

Jars bound to pieces of driftwood.

I really have no idea what this was made from.   Perhaps pieces of  hollow branches, painted white then tied together.   Any clue?

And these:  a wonderful wall display of  hanging jars at various heights from a branch.

All the above images can be located on my Pinterest Page.

All such cute ideas!    Although I've used pitchers, ice buckets and baskets,  here are a few others.   Mine aren’t new or unusual or even inspired, but I do like them.

An antique copper kettle I purchased about a
100 years ago for a song.

A coffee can wrapped in burlap and tied together with twine.

And  precious little boy Ropers!  The best part is I know the little feet that walked in these.
 The sweetest!

I hope you will join me for
every Friday beginning September 2.

See Details Here!

To my East Coast friends, please stay safe!
