Tahiti Wedding

Two years ago, for our  wedding anniversary, we treated ourselves a  14-day cruise from  Auckland to Sydney, with an extra week tacked on  for a side trip to the Great Barrier Reef.  I arranged for our airline tickets using our air miles (free!).  The only way we could get to Auckland  using our miles was with an 8 hour stop over in Tahiti, from midnight until about 8:00 a.m.

Whoa,  can we back this trip up  and spend a few days in Tahiti?  Of course you can said the accommodating agent.  So we tacked on another few days.  We had to stop over anyway, why not stay a while.

The first day at the resort where we stayed, a young couple were married and came out to the beach restaurant for a wedding lunch.

The happy couple were serenaded  by
a Tahitian combo

They smiled for their own wedding photographer as well as everyone taking pictures from the adjacent beach.

It was a few days before Valentine’s Day, and a perfect time for a wedding and honeymoon, and a wedding anniversary trip as well.

Hen Party

The previous post made me remember a Sunny Saturday in Sidney, Australia, when I saw these adorable girls in matching outfits walking around in Angel Wings.  Shyness is not in my nature (I confess), so I  ask them about it and they replied they were having a “Hen Party” !   It was an afternoon event for the Bride and her Bridesmaids.  Luckily,  they were not shy either and agreed to pose for a picture!

Bridal Party Gift

I recently  attended Stephanie of Angelic Accents’ annual  Wedding Blog Party with my post about a Wedding in Bruges, Belgium.   It was the Wedding Party of the Year, my friends!   And I hope you didn't miss it!    Guess What?  I won a gift!    Opening  it made me feel like a bride....

At a wedding shower!

Leaving the wrappings and tulle in my wake,

each of the little packages were opened with care, revealing…

Sachets,  Earrings,  Bookmarks with Charms,  Needlepoint in a Frame, Tags, Little Pillows , Crocheted Doily and a Cake Topper!    Everything a bride needs!

Stephanie’s pictures  of these lovely items are so much better than mine, but then,  just like a Bushing Bride, I’m  so excited!

 Sigh…………..
Thank you Stephanie!

Hugs, Honey

Bruges, Belgium Wedding

Since we are attending a wedding today, perhaps we all should pour a glass of champagne to celebrate while we read!
We were in Bruges, Belgium on a beautiful, warm Saturday.  The town is  tremendously cute with a large town square.   Outside of one of the buildings  we came upon a bicycle delivery cart that was decorated  .
We inquired of someone standing nearby and she informed us that this was City Hall and that weddings were taking place inside, and that we would  probably  see couples come out every 15-20 minutes.
She was waiting on her friend who in fact would be using the cart.   We asked the significance of the bicycle delivery cart.  She laughed and said, “He can’t afford a carriage”.
We were hooked and decided to wait for the happy couple to emerge.

They had a group of friends and family waiting,  and were immediately showered with rice and heart shaped confetti.

They were obviously enjoying themselves.

The bride stopped  to  graciously  accept flowers from a number of children.   Not a child with flowers was ignored.   This little blond-headed girl was just precious!

The groom takes a little step-stool out of the carriage for her assistance in  entering.

The happy bride’s face glowed and she laughed with glee!

Another picture or two and they were ready to depart!

It may not have been a  golden carriage, but they loved it.    He tested his horn and off they rode, waving to everyone.

And hopefully  they will live
 Happily Every After!

Until next time,  Honey
