I have a huge, overpowering case of the winter blahs, the doldrums which is definded by the dictionary as a period of inactivity or a state of stagnation.
It’s not been a harsh Winter, but windy, dreary. But I think it’s just me. This time of the year, I always long to be somewhere tropical. Someplace nice where the Sun is Shinning, the Breezes are Warm and the Water is Lapping on the Beach.
Somewhere where the palms are swaying
Palm Cove, Australia |
Taking a sunset cruise
Key West Florida |
Watching pink flamingos play
Aruba |
Enjoying warm tropical water

Parasailing

Strolling along black beaches

Sitting in a hot tub, enjoying the view

Watching the sunset over the ocean
Somewhere over the Ocean |
Or Snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef

I’m the one with the BIG EYES !!!
Your Eyes would get Big too if this thing swam up beside you and wanted to Snuggle!!
Until next time, Honey

Those pictures look anything but dull, don't they?! TFS
ReplyDeleteI didn't have any doldrums till I read this post! I forgot I didn't have a vacation 'cause I've been so busy learning how to blog.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
You wouldn't see big eyes on me if that fish was there. You'd see my flippers as I swam for the surface!
ReplyDeleteCome over to Australia for a virtual coastal shot in the arm. Don't worry. I'll be writing a similar post by about August.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn
Beautiful pictures...I so love the ocean. The fish pic is priceless fun!
ReplyDeletePerk up, Honey. Spring is just around the corner. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteOh looks like you have enjoyed some fabulous vacations. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a case of the winter blahs, and we haven't really had a winter yet. Your inspiration photos make me think "Calgon, take me away".
ReplyDeleteHope the blahs go a way soon.
AHHHHHHHH,
ReplyDeleteYou just took us there!
The beauty of your photographs are astounding.
Hang in there, days are getting longer, I promise!
Honey, I'm right there with ya! Can't wait to get out and do some gardening! It's like I'm stuck in a rut. We haven't had a winter.
ReplyDeleteNo winter here, either. I'm ready to start spring plantings, but I know a freeze will blow in if I do! I love the photo with you and the fish...I can't imagine!
ReplyDeleteI'll hop into any of those pictures right about now! Cannot wait for Spring either! I think I have to move very soon! Dreary weather wears me down!
ReplyDelete-Lynn
What a nice escape - even if it was just a few minutes.
ReplyDeleteHope your doldrums disappear.
I'm in!! Where are we going???
ReplyDelete(I always feel that way in February...)
Only one week to go until March :)
Ahhhh....how relaxing....and in summer we'll complain about the heat! LOL Sure looks good right now though!
ReplyDeleteLorraine
Beautiful pictures. Thanks for helping us take a break from winter and dream of warmer places. It won't be long, spring is around the corner!
ReplyDelete*sigh*
ReplyDeleteThat was all so beautiful. I still have a case of the February doldrums, but at least there are now some wonderful images swirling around in my head.
Honey you've got the right idea!
ReplyDeleteBut, I'm here in FLA and can't find the time to dip one toe in the water!!!
Maybe in a few weeks when spring break arrives?!?
Big hugs,
Patti
Seriously, I have spring fever too. All those things you mentioned sound so wonderful. I hope you get a chance to escape soon. I have an itty bitty tiny girls weekend coming up and I cannot wait!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been feeling the same way, Honey. Your pictures really perked me up and made me remember some tropical vacations we have taken!
ReplyDeleteThat fish is awesome. A little scary, but cool!
XO,
Jane
Beautiful & inpsiring pictures! Let's all run away and go on vacation somewhere warm and sunny :o)
ReplyDelete~Des
We all get those feelings and I'm sure you felt a little better when you were finding those gorgeous images for the blog post!
ReplyDeleteClose you eyes Honey and imagine you can feel the sun beating down and revitalising you!!
This was one of my yoga excercises at the end of a session and I usually quite magically drifted off to sleep in a field of sunflowers!!!!
Lovely post thank you
Shane x
I wish I was in all those places, too. The sun would feel so good and I would love to feel the sand between my toes and smell the salty air.
ReplyDeleteMy...sentiments...exactly...!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the vacation. I was with you all the way. I am the same way. Although we have had a mild winter, it's been dreary, cold and just blah!!! I want to be somewhere warm and tropical too. I'll meet you!! LOL...
ReplyDeleteCome on down to sunny Florida where the temperature today was a balmy 82 degrees and the swimming pool was a cool 78. The sun is shining and the weather is perfect now - you DON'T want to be here in June, July or August when the temps are close to 100 and the humidity is at 98 percent - UGH! That's when I want to be back up in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Washington, or Oregon - LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Honey. I am dreaming of a sunny and warm location, too. I would FREAK OUT if that fish swam up to me and wanted to snuggle. He looks pretty benign but still......
ReplyDelete~Shanon
You and I are dreaming of the same things!!! Come on over to see my tropical table. I did it for the same reasons:):) Love your pictures. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful, Honey, and are evidence of wonderful vacations you've taken--good memories to rely on! We've hardly even taken a stay-cation this year, but this morning as I was getting ready the SUN was streaming in (!!!), and I actually took a few seconds to lift my face to it and let it soak in...ahhhh....love the sun and beach! Thanks for the little tour of beautiful, warm places!
ReplyDeleteI am ready.
ReplyDeleteI was so enjoying your wonderful photographs and imagining being ther until the last one.
ReplyDeleteI have been there, with that fish and it terrified the life out of me on my first attempt at snorkling whilst cruising Australia's Barrier Reef.
I am ready, let's go. Is that you in the last pic. Great pics.
ReplyDeletespring is not too far away.
Hugs, Ginger

I'm with you - not a winter kind of girl at all! Luckily we are supposed to be in the low 80's here in Texas today - bring on the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures . . . yep, I'm with YOU although we've only shoveled THREE times here in Chicago this winter! BUT, we are under a winter storm watch and expecting 6-8" tonight -- BUMMER! Did you go to all of those places?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos my friend. Doldrums be gone! I waved my imaginary harry potter wand when I said that, LOL and just in case it didn't work....here's an extra BIG Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGood Grief!!! THANK YOU for the visual vacation!!! Can I go with you next time you travel? LOL
ReplyDeleteI have been soooooo lethargic all winter - I'm even disgusting myself!!!
;-D robelyn
You get around girl!! I'm just excited about the wildflowers. I think they are going to be fabulous this year, after a dreadful year last year.
ReplyDeleteCan I go too? :)
