My living room and I have been “beach dreaming” . So we (my imaginary housekeeper) gathered up some collected shells...
Put them in a large Silver Shell
Added a bargain Silver tray ($1.99), unpolished. Layered on top is a vintage crochet piece.
Blue books were used to contrast with the whiteness of the coral, collected long ago.
Isn’t it delicate?
A coconut picked up by the sweetest little boy many years ago brings back sweet memories. When plucked from under the palm it was green. Gradually it turned brown and was treated to a coat of poly.
More collected shells went into a large apothecary jar
Starfish in another
There are usually a couple of Art books laying around as well as a stack of magazines add to the mix.
Clean, (but maybe a bit of shell overload), it satisfies the desire for the “beach” for a little while, or at least a few minutes.
Until next time, Honey

It's so nice you can bring the beach into your home. I don't have a single shell or starfish. Maybe I should do something about that! Thanks for the inspiration...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vignette! Love the shells.
ReplyDeleteSherry

Ooh, what beautiful eye candy! Gives the eyes so much to look at and so much texture. Love it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful vignette you created with all those shells! I love shells, they're really amazing aren't they? Your coral piece is lovely too:)
ReplyDeleteYour decorating is just so beautiful. I'm horribly envious (doesn't envious sound so much better than jealous?) of your silver shell. The coral is so happy on the books of blue (although even enlarging the picture I couldn't read the titles and oh...that's hard on a book lover!) and the memories of coconut picking made me smile.
ReplyDeleteYou have a knack for creating a pretty vignette. Shells are perfect for decorating this time of year. My favorites are your coral and the preserved coconut.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection of shells and beach finds! Love the silver bowl and tray, too! Fabulous!
