On our recent vacation, we happened upon
this little open-air fresh fruit and vegetable market in
Cherbourg, France.
Beautiful, the fruits and vegetables were rich in color, but also a bit rich in price. Priced in Euros (at about $1.50 per Euro) , the strawberries are within pennies of $6.00 for 14 ounces. The cantaloupes were in two sizes at about $4.50 for the smaller and $6.00 of the larger of the two. The asparagus , about $6.00 per bunch.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and a
Happy Pink Saturday.
Hugs, Honey

Wow...that is expensive! It all looks very pretty though. I guess you need to have your own potager if you live there!

Well, it's good to know the prices were high. My husband kept wanting to find an open-air market in France and never did, so I guess we didn't miss anything except an opportunity for beautiful photos like yours. Nice work!

What an exciting trip! I love your photos and can't wait to see more. Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my flowers with the raindrops. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteSmall portions eh? They are lovely though. I was addicted to Diet Coke when we were in Italy and we paid the equivalent of four dollars for each can I drank!
ReplyDeleteYour photography is great! They look awesome anyway. This is my first time back to blogland in months...so I'd love to have you come visit me too. Kathi

Oh, for a market like that nearby. The prices are steep, but there`s no waste - every bite is delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday Honey Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous share. Everything looks absolutely divine. I love the look of those radishes. Just give me the salt and I could go to town on those. I also love the potatoes, as they look wonderful. Rich color too.
I even spied a little watermelon that looked delish as well as an artichoke or two. Yummy.
Thank you for taking me along to the market today. I so enjoyed myself, even if it was a little costly. Fresh is so much better.
Many hugs and much love, Sherry
So beautiful, thanks for sharing:-)

Looks like a wonderful outdoor market! Funny how pricey veggies and fruits are over there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of this market! It's always a treat to visit these outdoor markets with fresh food. I visited Tokyo in the 80s at Christmas time. A shock for us was seeing individual cantaloupe for sale at $60 on up. They were special gift box presentations. It was amazing to us to see that these were such special gifts. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteMarvelous shots!!
ReplyDeleteOutdoor markets are a blast to go too. Glad you obtained some interesting photos. Sorry the prices are soooo high!
ReplyDeleteJoyce M
Beautiful! But definitely pricey. Of course the Europeans display everything in such a lovely way that you almost don't mind paying extra. :)
ReplyDeleteHeather
I would have stayed there all day taking photos
