A Gift for YOU and Vintage Vignette

This Vintage Tabletop is in a guest bedroom, which is also quite vintage.  The bed,
dresser and side table are all Antiques, and live along with a few other goodies.
Elements of the arrangement  include a White Birdcage with a rusted peaked roof…We all
seem  afflicted with a  bit of Rust Love.
003

Add layered crocheted pieces, some passed down from family
and some acquired.
015

Throw some Magnolias and rolled sheet music into the Birdcage.  Tuck in a vintage crocheted piecr or Lace hankie.
019

Hang  a Pearl
Necklace and add a couple of Vintage Bottles
024

Don’t forget the Old Wedding Ring Pillow!
007

To complete the arrangement add   Cherished Vintage Family Photos along with a few
Adopted Relatives who need a Good   Home and Someone to Love them.
035

All reflected in the Vintage Dresser Mirror, and Voila!

Oh come, let us worship
and bow down;
Let us kneel before the

Super Fast and Easy Tabletop Floral

This is a Super, Super Easy floral arrangement
made from four floral bunches.
It goes together in minutes, then breaks
apart in minutes to
store away until next season,
Saving tons of time for all the
Cooking, Cleaning & Laundry that we
Love so Well !!

Come Fly With Me

        Before we took off …….

New England, Canada 10-10 064

On the trip to New England and Canada, which included an 11-day cruise which was so cheap inexpensive I can’t even tell you.  If I did you might think I was lying, and I don’t want to get off on the wrong foot.  So, before we took off…..

Did I tell you that this trip was only booked 6 days before we left?

Anyway,  before we flew off….

I only had a bare minimum of time to arrange
some Fall florals……

Take an old grapevine wreath,  a half-price garland and a few gourds, berries,

Pumpkins, pinecones and leaves from my stash,

and create this
           Wreath for my Front Porch…..

On my return,  I might have been tempted to call  it a day,  but it’s my year to host Thanksgiving Day.   My two sisters and I rotate and I expect 25-30 people.  But instead of immediately washing, cleaning and completing my decorating,  I had something more  IMPORTANT  to do.   What could possibly be more important than chores and décor you might ask.  Take a look  to see just what it was that just couldn’t wait.   (It was only on Monday, so it won’t take long to check out.)   Oh well, there’s always next week.
Until next time,  Honey

A Stroll through Quebec City

I was so taken with Quebec City,  I want to share a few of my pictures with you.   It is so stunning  and the Fall color was breathtaking (something usually not seen in my part of  Texas.)
Quebec is one of the oldest cities in North America and the old part of the city still has it old fortified walls.

Although I am fascinated with taking pictures of architectural details, doors,  windows, steeples and such (and  have a lot of them),  I  was really taken by the spirit of the street scenes.

“skin to skin”.

Open Letter From a Virgin Blogger

fall 045
WELCOME!

Dear Fabulous Bloggers,
I have been lurking around for months, totally amazed by your talent, imagination, artistic ability, creativity and ultra-fabulous photography!  You share great friendships and  a sense of community.  After careful consideration (I'm a Libra so there is often a balancing act involved) and some counseling by my new friend Jodie of Everything Vintage,  I have decided to take the plunge.  Not that I have anything special to contribute,  my goal is to participate and have fun!
Beware:  It may take me a while to learn all the "thingys and doodads" a blogger is supposed to know.  But rest assured that I will not let my blogging time get in the way of my blog-reading time.

Now here’s a confession: my post title claims to be a Blog Virgin,  but that’s not the absolute truth as I have  “played around”  a little by posting a few entries to a travel blog.... but I haven’t done it lately.   So with that out of the way, here goes……I hope that you enjoy the pictures of Halloween Decorations which were taken last week in Quebec City.
By the way, you can call me “Honey”.
