Potpourri Friday #38


Hi everyone!  Hope this has been a wonderful week for all of you.  I have had company for the past two weeks, the last of which left this morning.  I miss them already...the house is so quite.
This week I did re-arrange the little shelf in the stairwell.


 And made Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Stairwell Shelf

On my stairwell landing, I have a little hanging shelf of iron with a wooden top.  It hangs below a tall, narrow window in which a leaded glass window in a frame in hung.  Can't show you the window as it's dirty and needs to be cleaned which means someone will have to get upon a ladder.



Back to the shelf.  I changed it up a bit today by shopping the house.  I used a little framed oil I painted quite a few years ago, a stack of altered books, some greenery and a bird.



The base is a greenish-gray with a bit of black 
on the edges.

Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

I saw a recipe in a Philadelphia Cream Cheese ad in the July issue of Southern Living Magazine for Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream.

Strawberry
Cheesecake
Ice Cream


Oh, Yes!

1 8 oz. pkg. Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
1  14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup shipping cream
1-1/2 cups fresh strawberries

1.  MIX first 3 ingredients with mixer until well blended.  Freeze 4 hours or until almost solid.

2.  BEAT cream cheese mixture with mixer until creamy. Blend berries in blender until almost smooth.   Add to cream cheese mixture.  Freeze 8 hours or until firm.

3. REMOVE from freezer and let stand a few minutes to soften.

This recipe also included chopped Honey Graham Crackers and lemon zest, which I did not use, since I was only interested in the strawberries, the cream cheese, the Eagle Brand and the cream!

Creamy & Delicious


I'll be screaming for this again in the very near future!

Potpourri Friday #37


Welcome to Potpourri Friday!



This week has been crazy for me!   I have been absent from posting and commenting as my computer croaked last Friday night.  I say croaked rather than crashed as it sort of died in it's sleep and didn't wake up.  I took it to the professional Geeks and long story short, it ended up with me having to purchase a new computer due to the pricey repair cost.  My hard drive wasn't damaged so they were able to transfer my data files, but not my installed programs, to my new computer.  But along came my own personal Geek squad and they did that work for me.  Easy-peasy when you have your own personal geeks.

What did I do during my time without a computer.  I cleaned up the office.  Mr. 2805 was so delighted, he called Hoarders and told them to cancel the shoot!

Now, to the blog.  It's crazy!  My blog, live on my computer, is in Veranda type.  In the edit mode, it's Georgia.  Live on computers everywhere, except my own, it's the font I've been using since my blog began, Papyrus.  I think I'm posting in Veranda today, (that's another story).  I'm thinking a major overhaul may be needed.
