My carved wooden angel is praying or in
deep contemplation.
When I saw this picture in an old issue of
Southern Living Magazine (2001),
my thought was I could use it for inspiration.
My angel is carved wood (note the different variations in the wood grain) and from toe to crown measures about 24-inches,
and of course is not in the same pose as the inspiration picture, but still conveys the same spirit of praying.
Everything was on hand, the angel,
the greens, the berry crown.
When I switched the angle of the camera,
there was a hint on stained glass in the background which made
a nice alternate image.
The angel is one of three wooden
carved angels shown in an upcoming
mantel post.
Until next time, Honey

ReplyDeleteSweet and I love the pic with the stained glass!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, when I saw your post title on my blog sidebar, I thought you needed help with something, "Calling All Angels." And I came over to say I'm no angel but I'll help in any way I can. :) However, your angel is just beautiful, love the contemplative look, so right for this time of year.

Hi Honey! Can you believe I have the Southern Living picture saved in my inspiration file. There has always been something I loved about the angel. Your wood angel is beautiful and rivals the one in the magazine.
